HIPAA/Privacy Liability Coverage

Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal law enacted in 1996. It was established to protect individual’s personal health information. Certain branches of the state may require contracted health care providers to carry Privacy Liability, or other forms of Cyber Security, to protect the interests of the health care provider in the event of a privacy breach.

We offer a Privacy Liability policy with a minimum coverage limit of $50,000. Premiums range from $78 – $209, depending on your annual revenue and number of clients.

In order to qualify for this policy, you must meet the requirements below:

  • Contracted with a state agency or CCB in Colorado.
  • You are an individual, or a small business, with an annual revenue of less than $250,000.
  • No prior privacy or security breaches

If your annual revenue exceeds $250,000, a higher coverage limit is required. Please contact our office for assistance.
